About
The Röhsska Museum of Design and Craft wanted help to visualize a tile stove to be used as a part of their exhibition "18th-Century Design and Craft". This would be presented as an animation and expected to have a style of an old drawing. Röhsska contacted Chalmers Teknologkonsulter and assigned me to work in the project where I also was the project manager.
Project Process
Pre-Study
In this phase, I gathered all the materials needed to understand the construction of a tile stove and how Röhsska had visioned it. I used storyboarding to make sure that we were on the right track. A reference group was involved in giving feedback on the storyboard. After three iterations of a storyboard, I continued to the next phase.
Modelling
During this phase, I had contact with a tile stove expert who explained how the tile stove is built from the ground. This knowledge helped me understand what building stones were necessary for the animation. Apart from that, I also contacted the Röhsska Team, who provided me with measurements of the physical tile stove. All the 3D objects were created from scratch in Blender.
Animation
The different scenes were created in Blender, and the final editing was done in Adobe After Effects.
